Based in Melbourne, Studio Jacobson is a creative practice built at the intersection of fine art and interior design. Founded by artist Danny Jacobson and architect Mary Jacobson, the studio works with collectors, designers, and clients who understand that the spaces we inhabit — and the art within them — shape how we experience everyday life.

Danny Jacobson.

Industrial Designer. Artist

Danny Jacobson is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and consultant with over two decades of experience across fine art, industrial design, and exhibition design. His practice is defined by a rigorous curiosity — a sustained investigation into form, colour, and materiality that moves fluidly between the commercial and the purely expressive.

As a practicing abstract artist and co-founder of Studio Jacobson, Danny has established a presence in both the Australian and international art worlds, with work exhibited at New York and Milan’s Design Week and Fashion Week. His paintings are held in private and corporate collections throughout Australia, with ongoing commissions reflecting the depth and demand for his distinctive visual language.

His professional design career spans roles at some of Australia’s most respected cultural institutions, including the National Gallery of Victoria — where he delivered landmark exhibitions such as Howard Arkley, Cinema India: The Art of Bollywood, and Sneakers: Classics to Customs.

Danny holds a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Design (Honours) from Monash University, a foundation that grounds his creative practice in equal parts artistic sensibility and technical precision.

Mary Jacobson.

Designer

Mary Jacobson is a design leader with over two decades of experience delivering human-centred environments across the residential, seniors living, healthcare, commercial, hospitality, and retail sectors. Her work is guided by a belief that thoughtful design has the capacity to genuinely improve the way people live — and that rigour and beauty are never mutually exclusive.

Mary’s career began at respected practices including Billard Leece Partnership, where she contributed to the iconic Royal Children’s Hospital, and Paul Hickman Design, where she honed her approach to hospitality and retail through projects for Village Cinemas in Melbourne and Singapore.

As co-founder of Studio Jacobson, she brings the same precision and considered aesthetic she applies to architecture into the realm of interior design — creating spaces that are resolved at every scale, from structural concept to material detail.

Mary holds a Bachelor of Architecture from RMIT University, complemented by an Associate Diploma of Technology in Furniture — a dual foundation that informs her holistic understanding of space, object, and the human experience.
